We use lots of different muscles when we write from our shoulder and elbow muscles to support our arm to our wrists and finger muscles which control the movement of the pencil.
Every day in Nursery there are activities which help to build those muscles, our pincer grip (holding things between our finger and thumb) and our hand eye co-ordination.
We had plasacince this week, which is a lot harder than play dough. This meant we had to push down hard, using shoulder and elbow muscles.
We also had a go at sewing. Pushing the needle though the fabric and pulling the thread all the way through. We had to carefully control the needle.
